Motivation to the study

Obtain a Farm Decision Support System to be used for optimising arable land cropping schemes by mean of a yearly description of farm activities and a set descriptive variables useful for environmental issues

Technology

Farm is described within a Mathematical Programming viepoint and an optimal asset is obytained by an optimisation process based on a Linear Programming scheme. Code has been developed in GAMS and Technical Coefficients are greatly based on data collected by Italian Farm Accountancy data-set.

The model is fully available under a collaboration framework / project

Strengths and Limits

MAD can be used in every FADN compliant context. Not all the holding can be represented nor the structure and activity have the time-granularity required to represent a real farm management.
